Since its formation as a company, AHNU has been involved with The Conservation Alliance. As a member of the Alliance, AHNU actively contributes to The Conservation Alliance's community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, particularly where outdoor enthusiasts recreate.
Ahnu is also a sponsor of The Conservation Alliance through the Plus 3 Network. We value the work of The Conservation Alliance, as a protector of outdoor spaces for both wildlife needs and recreational purposes. Plus 3 Network members who select Ahnu Footwear as their 'sponsor' help to directly support the Conservation Alliance with worthwhile giving each time a member completes and logs a fitness activity.

The Breast Cancer Fund is the leading national organization working to identify and eliminate the environmental causes associated with breast cancer, including exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation. The Breast Cancer Fund mobilizes the public to secure the changes needed to stop this disease before it starts, with research, education, advocacy and fund-raising events.

Ahnu is proud to participate in a donation program set up to contribute to Soles4Souls. Soles4Souls facilitates the donations of shoes to those in need worldwide, giving away 5.5 million pairs of shoes since 2005. The Soles4Souls organization is a perfect fit for Ahnu's mission of achieving Greater Good in bringing our footwear to those who desperately need it.
Soles4Souls history is rooted in the story of Hurricane Katrina and its victims. Wayne Elsey, a former footwear executive, partnered with friends and colleagues in the industry to send over 1 million pairs of shoes to the survivors of this disaster. Soles4Souls was born as a result of this philanthropic endeavor, and today continues to make a difference in people's lives with the gift of shoes.
AHNU is a proud sponsor of The Conservation Alliance and the Breast Cancer Fund within the Plus 3 Network, a social networking website that pairs worthy causes and nonprofits with corporate sponsors that are willing to donate 5 cents or more for each mile that a Plus 3 member bikes, runs, walks, or swims and logs on the Plus 3 site. Plus 3 actively manages, motivates, validates and rewards members for participating in fitness activities.
Plus 3 now has an iPhone application, making the journey of personal fitness and sponsorship of worthwhile causes even easier. This mobile, GPS-enhanced social networking application successfully allows members to track and log miles on the go. The Team LUNA Chix Program brings together women interested in learning new sports, staying active and inspiring others to do the same.
The program includes 28 LUNA Chix Local Teams and the LUNA Chix Pro Team. The local teams include women at all levels, from beginners to casual competitors. The pro team includes 10 of the country's most amazing (and winning) professional athletes. Several times a year the Pro Team gets together with the Local Teams to share their considerable experience and encouragement.
Together the teams train, compete and support each other, while also fundraising for LUNA's non-profit partner, the Breast Cancer Fund.

Team Farsight, led by Trevor Thomas, is an inspirational team of hikers dedicated to raising public awareness and changing societal expectations for the blind, while simultaneously empowering the blind population to achieve greater heights. Team Farsight is planning a 2010 thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, covering some of the most rugged and remote terrain in the United States over a 2,800 mile span. Fewer people have thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail than have summited Mount Everest.
More extraordinary than the expedition itself is that Team Farsight will be led by Trevor Thomas, the first blind person to complete an unassisted thru-hike of the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail. After losing his sight at the age of 35 to a rare eye disease, Trevor Thomas decided to turn his own disability into a position of advocacy and strength. He pursues his passion of summiting some of the worlds tallest peaks, and continues to rock climb, participate in long-distance hiking, and adventure races.
